The Sibyl's Scriptorium Contests Return

We're pleased to announce that after restructuring and revising the contests, the DragonComet Short Story Contest and Æther Illustration Contest will reopen for the 2024 contest year!

This year major changes include holding two contest terms during the year: one for fantasy and one for science fiction. Be sure to check out all the changes to the rules today.

The Odyssey and PhoenixMoon contests will return in future contest years.

About Us

Sibyl's Scriptorium is the home to the DragonComet, Odyssey, Æther, and PhoenixMoon contests for short stories, poetry, illustrations, and Graphic Novels. SibScript provides a haven for all creators. Our call to entrants is to create their own universe.

At SibScript, we are dedicated to aiding creators of all skill levels in gaining practical experience in the creative arts. Each contest has division for students and for adults, allowing both groups to compete at their own level. The contests are free to enter. Don’t miss the chance to enter today.

Entries are accepted during the two submission terms, one for Fantasy and one for science fiction. This systems allows entrants to continue perfecting and honing their skills throughout the year. Winning entries are selected by the celebrity judges for each contest.

Winning entries of all divisions are published in the annual anthology by the same name, Sibyl’s Scriptorium. With both science fiction and fantasy entries accepted, each piece submitted is as unique as the creator. Take a moment to peruse the pages and discover a world unseen before.

SibScript is a labor of love for those working on it. Every staff member volunteers their time and talents to help create the best experience possible for our entrants and readers. All proceeds from the sale of the anthology go back into the contests to support future years and new aspiring authors.

Previous Contest Winners

Dragon Contest, as the first of the contests, was founded in 2002. The other contests were added over time. Winner information prior to 2004 has been lost to the dust of time.

Publication

Sibyl’s Scriptorium is sold in both print and eBook copies. The eBook edition has full color for all illustrations submitted in color. The print edition is quality black and white.
